Claddagh Farm Open Shows 2011

Because of the economy last year, we are unable to put shows on this year.

We will however have maybe 2 game shows for the season and one overnight with some clinics you can join in on for a fee that the instructors choose to charge.

This show will be a prepaid advanced tickets only with a very limited number of riders.

The show will be in September with a date to be announced.

 


HORSE SHOW RULES

Open Show Fees $8.00 per class or $70 for the day per horse/rider.

A one time charge of $5.00 for the year for numbers per horse/rider.

A $5.00 processing fee per horse/rider per day.

SHOW STARTS PROMPTLY AT 10:00AM Please be considerate of others and be on time.

1 Current Coggins MUST BE SHOWN upon entrance to show grounds.
2 A release must be signed at the time of entry. On back of entry form. You can not ride without it !
3 Claddagh Farm will follow the rules of the American Quarter Horse Association. If there is a question, the AQHA rule book will stand. Gates will be closed for all events.
4 Show participants MUST attend a minimum of six of the seven series shows to be eligible year end awards.
5 Payment for entries must be made prior to the class and "NO REFUNDS" will be made on cancellations.
6 Each horse/rider combination will receive a number at the start of the season which will be his/hers for the entire year. Cost of number is $5.00. Replacement cost for a lost number will be $5.00.
7 Once a class is entered if a substitution of horse or rider or any other change is made to the entry there will be a $5.00 CHANGE FEE  for each class, so please make sure you only enter the classes you want to ride in.
8 All walk/trot classes are novice horse and/or rider events. Cannot have won more than 3 blue ribbons at any show. We depend on your honesty. it is unfair to new riders to have you compete with them.
9 Claddagh Farm reserves the right to combine classes if there are fewer than 6 entries
10 Junior riders must be under 18 as of January first, 2009.
11 Proper attire is required for all classes and hardhats must be worn for ALL timed events by children under 12 years.
12 The Claddagh Farm judge may allow the riders not to wear jackets or coats depending on the weather.
13 All riders under 12 years of age must wear an ASTM-SEI approved helmet while mounted.
14 Abuse of animals WILL NOT be tolerated.
15 Classes may be added if enough entrants request them or may be cancelled or combined if there are fewer than 6 entries.
16 Stallions may be shown in the in hand classes with geldings providing they are wall mannered.
17 Riders entered in walk/trot classes are not eligible to ride in any canter class.
18 Claddagh Farm is not responsible for loss, theft, injury or death of any participant, spectator, horse, equipment or vehicle.
19 We would prefer that you leave dogs at home, but if you MUST bring your sidekick, he/she MUST be on a lease. The owner of any loose dog will be assessed a fine of $50 for bail out fee.
20 A championship and reserve championship ribbon will be given out at the end of the season for the Grand Champion and Reserve rider of the series, as well as prizes. Participants in the Claddagh Farm Show Circuit must be present at the November show if they are to be eligible for the year end awards in Halter, Walk Trot English, Open English, Walk Trot Western, Open Western and Games as well as season high point Grand and Reserve.
21 ABSOLUTELY NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL ON THE PREMISES. NO DRUGS ARE ALLOWED FOR USE ON HORSES OR RIDERS.
22 LOUD, RUDE, OBNOXIOUS BEHAVIOR will be cause for expulsion from the show grounds.
23 If there is a question regarding the health of an animal brought to the Claddagh Farm Shows, the farm owners will have the final word as to whether the animal may remain on the grounds or not. Please be fair to other horse owners and if you think your animal is ill or has been in contact with a contagious animal, do not bring it to the show.
Warning!!! Under SC Law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of equine activity, pursuant to Article 7, South Carolina 1976.

From Columbia area and north – Take I 20 West to exit 33 (Route 39 Monetta/Ridge Springs). Turn left at the end of the exit onto Route 39 South, go approximately 14 miles into Wagener to the first stoplight. Make a right at the traffic light and another right at the gas station. Follow Route 302 South for 3.5 miles. You will see signs for the horse show. Make a left onto Fox Young Road. Go to the first drive on the right (sign says Claddagh Farm) and make a right into the farm. Parking is to the left past the arena.
From Augusta area and south – Take I 20 East to exit 33 (Route 39 Monetta/Ridge Springs). From East  (Route 26) Take I 26 to Route 302 exit (airport). Follow 302 south toward Aiken. Go through the traffic light in Wagener, turn right at the gas station onto 302 South, continue 3.5 miles, make a left onto Fox Young Road and a right into first driveway on the right to Claddagh Farm. Or you can use I-20 exit 33 onto 39 south toward Wagener
 From Aiken – Take Route 302 north toward Kitchens Mill. Follow Route 302 as it turns to the left and continue approximately 5.2 miles. You will pass a large brick home enclosed by fencing with wrought iron gates (gargoyles on the top). At the bottom of the hill turn right onto Fox Young Road. Turn right at first driveway on the  right into Claddagh Farm.
